The Demolition Of Radco
The time has come for the demolition of the former Radco Superstore to begin. Radstock Co-operative Society are working closely with local companies Bath Demolition & project managers Rider Levett Bucknell. Work will commence with the demolition on Monday 14th November 2022.
An internal soft strip will take place first, with Bath Demolitions hoping to move on to the external demolition in December 2022. Project works have taken in to consideration the environmental impact. Bath Demolition aim to recycle concrete & repurpose old materials for reuse on site. Measures have also been implemented to protect the local wildlife, such as otters; the riverscape & trees.
Talks also continue with Bath College on ways to include local students in the project. Bath Demolition are looking to provide site visits to Bath College students, studying Building Services Engineering. The site visits will allow the students the opportunity to learn the demolition process first hand & ask any questions about the process to experienced demolition contractors.
The start of the demolition of the former Radco superstore will mark the beginning of a new era for Radstock Co-operative Society. We will be taking this opportunity to raise funds internally for local good causes based in the town.
Once site demolition & clearance has been successfully completed the Society will look forward to the start of the redevelopment.
