Update on Radco 

Following the planning approval in March 2021 and the site clearance of the former Radco Site, there have been significant economic pressures affecting not just the redevelopment of the Radco site but of others across the UK, leading to struggles within the entire development & construction industry.

Due to the significant increase in construction inflation, which have been aggravated by delays due to COVID restrictions, discussions are taking place with the local planning authority on how to move forward given current economic pressures on approved plans. It is likely that amendments will need to be made.

The Society remain entirely committed to this project and its ultimate goal: a new store, head office and homes as part of a mixed use development for Radstock.

The Demolition Of Radco

The Society is delighted to announce the completion of the demolition of the former Radco Store, which is now ready for redevelopment.

Demolition began on Monday 14th November 2022, when Bath Demolition commenced with an internal soft strip of the site. Subsequently, Bath Demolition swiftly moved onto external demolition in December.

Measures were also implemented to protect local wildlife, such as otters; the riverscape and trees.

Bath Demolition recycled concrete and repurposed old materials for reuse on site.
