The visit included a trip to our Dairy Farm to see the rotary parlour & observe the milking process in action. Our dairy is located at Manor Farm in between Radstock and Frome and where we have been farming locally for over 100 years as part of the Radstock Co-operative Society. The site covers an area of over 1,000 acres with recent developments expanding this further and increasing the herd to over 750 cows.
Last year there was an installation of a 70-point carousel in the rotary parlour, at the time, this was the largest of its type in the country. The milk produced here is distributed across the country as part of the National Co-Operative milk supply. The introduction of this parlour has improved the herd wellbeing and created a calm environment which the cows have benefited from.
