The Society believes that all girls should have equal access to football and is proud to support this initiative. The Watchet Town Football Club, which runs the U12s team, is a community-based organisation, providing opportunities for all to play football.
The Society is proud to be a part of this initiative, which aims to provide girls with the opportunity to experience football in their local community, as well as to participate, lead & compete! Giving them equal access to one of the nation’s much-loved sports.
Our Watchet Store Supervisor Kim, had the honour of presenting the new away kit to the team.
The Watchet Vikings U12s girl team with Watchet town Football Club is aimed at girls entering Year 7 in September. Watchet Vikings Away pre-season friendly at Shepton Mallet Sports 3-3
Another fantastic performance from the team at Shepton Mallet, in their new away kits kindly sponsored by Radstock Co-operative. This was the first game for two players and for many, this was their first away game in very hot conditions after a long journey to the away fixture. After the first quarter (quarters due to the heat!) Watchet was 2-0 down but went on to build into the game with good passing and shape to draw 3-3. The players grew in confidence as the match went on, with communication improving. Lots of great fitness in the second pre-season friendly. 2 goals from Ella and 1 from Flo at the end to get the equaliser! To join the team, contact Coach Jack on 07939 850 11
